Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American singer-songwriter and popular actress. Her mother raised her throughout the USA she had to face many racial slurs which gave her feeling of being unwanted. As she entered the 9th grade she started to feel more confident when she was praised by her teachers when she sang at the school's audition. The experience not only boosted her self-confidence but also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. She was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot She played The Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. The following year, she appeared on the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider appreciation for her performance. Known as a singer she also released a single and an extended version of her play. In her role as an activist, she works tirelessly in the cause of LGBT equality.
